Courtney is a Licensed Midwife in California and is a member of the board. She received a post-secondary degree in Holistic Midwifery from the Nizhoni Institute of Midwifery. She is a Certified Birth Doula, and a Certified Educator of Infant Massage, certified by the International Association of Infant Massage. In addition to many clinical hours providing well woman and prenatal care, she has attended hundreds of births and has experience supporting women out of the hospital, in birth centers and in the hospital.
In 2003, Courtney graduated from the University of California Irvine. She graduated with a degree in Social Ecology where she studied the pressing issues our world faces such as the degradation of the global environment, poverty, inequality and its collateral consequences for community health and wellbeing. She completed her field study in the non-profit sector assisting in many community outreach programs. She is committed to making this world a better place for future generations both locally and internationally.
Courtney’s passion for pregnancy and birth began when she was pregnant with her first daughter in 2003. She believes it is every woman’s right to have access to safe and affordable health care.
