After having her first child at a Birth Center and her second at home with the care of Midwives, Tara felt compelled to help and advocate for other women, children and families to have the birth experience that was right for them. She began advocating on behalf of clients to their health insurance companies forcing a fair reimbursement for the care they received by their Midwives.
Advocacy for women, children and families has become a passion of hers and has lead her to Birth Without Borders to help advocate and support with different projects. This advocacy has also lead her to a decision for a new career path. She will begin law school in 2017 pursing her law degree with a focus on Health Law and a special focus on Civil Rights.
